For a year now, Kris and I had planned to take the family to New Hampshire this summer so they can see Grammy. She's getting older and we never know how much time we'll have. Because there have been so many changes with mine and Kris's jobs, paying out a few thousand dollars to go on a family vacation was no longer in the cards. Thankfully, my cousin, Stacie, was willing to travel with her and bring her out to Utah. It's a long way to come and I'm so grateful she did.
Her second night here, we had a barbeque at my parents' house and everyone was able to come - even all of Jen's kids. We took a lot of pictures! I'm sure my grammy got sick of the pictures, but we don't know if we'll have this opportunity again.
Ironically, as soon as we were done with the pictures, it started raining. The timing couldn't have been better. The food was great, the company better, and thankfully the kids were very nice to Stacie and Grammy. I was worried they'd be too shy and need a long warm-up time and Gram would feel bad. Well, that didn't happen. They were fantastic.
Later in the evening, after we'd all eaten, Kyson decided to hand out paper and crayons to everyone and he told us all that we had to draw fireworks and make a fireworks book. We were all laughing hysterically when we were being ordered around by a six-year-old. It was such a nice evening. I loved it.
