Like Father, Like Son

I always have such good intentions to keep up on my blog, and then life gets busy. I'm two days behind. Becuase I'm behind, I''m sure you can imagine that I have so much to say about Kyson, as always. He's crawling like a little bear now on his hands and feet. It's pretty funny. He's also putting large balls in his mouth. Well, he's putting everything in his mouth. He eats the chairs at church, the tables at restaurants, and anything else that fits.

Kris decided that in order to make Kyson feel more comfortable about his baldness, he'd try a new look. My opinion of the whole thing - "No comment."

My mother had surgery yesterday to have her hip replaced. We went up to the hospital to see her last night and she is was happy and content. She could have been happy from the pain medication, but the fact remains, she was happy. She is supposed to be in the hospital for 3 days and plans to only have to take one week off of work. That's my mom for you.

Life Goes On

I haven't really updated anything in two weeks partly becuase nothing really eventful has happened, and partly becuase I've been so busy with a sick baby and too much work. Kyson is doing better. He had another sinus infection, and has been sleeping non-stop. That is extremely unusual. When he's so miserable, he loves to have his back rubbed with the massager. He's now having trouble with his bowels and it's been a miserable weekend with rubber gloves and KY jelly. That's all I'm going to say about that.

I've been overwhelmed with school and over the weekend my computer stopped working - how convenient. I couldn't save anything to Microsoft Word, which is a slight problem when doing lesson plans. Kris took my normal working area to work on my computer, so Kyson let me borrow one of his chairs. It wasn't very comfortable, but it did the job. Kris is still working away with school and the deadline for the education program applications are coming up. We're keeping our fingers crossed and pray constantly that he'll get in.

Snow and . . . more snow

I wasn't sure what I'd write about this week considering there wasn't anything really noteworthy, until the storm that hit us today. We had an insane amount of snow. I'm not sure of numbers, but it was over a foot. I had a rude awakening when I raised the garage door this morning. Church was canceled and 4-wheel drive vehicles were getting trapped on the road in front of our house. Our neighbors were gracious enough to come and help us dig ourselves out and between 4 of us, it still took an hour and a half to empty our driveway. I'm including many photos of our fun snow storm today. We're grateful it was on a Sunday and we didn't need to go anywhere. After digging our the entryway to our house, the snow was up to our crotches and we were freezing. All I can say is, there is too much snow! This is the view of the sidewalks looking down our street.I took this picture from our window on the main floor. The snow is up to the window, and the black dot you see, that is Kris walking down the sidewalk in front of the house.

Yesterday and all week, Kyson has been the typical playful boy. He played with our friends' little boy Luke last night, while we played with our friends, Jordan and Julie. He had fun in the bathtub and kept us entertained, as usual - until this morning. While were have been trying to dig ourselves out today, poor Kyson has been pretty sick. He wasn't outside at all, and he slept almost all day, which is VERY unusual for him. He typically sleeps for maybe two hours during the day, and today he was awake maybe 4. He's running a temperature of 102, so I'm staying home from work tomorrow to take him to the doctor. We think it's another sinus infection. It'll be nice to have our enthusiastic boy back.
That's the end.
