Pumkins and Houses

In order to really jump into the festive spirit of Halloween, we went had an evening of family bonding at the pumpkin patch and a haunted house.

We went to the pumpkin patch that we go to every year to pick out pumpkins.  I think we got there late in the season and late in the day because there weren't very many good pumpkins to choose from.  That didn't stop us from having a great time.  We played on the farm equipment, ran through the corn maze, rode on the hay ride, and of course, ran through the pumpkin patch.  It doesn't take much to amuse little kids, and when the kids are happy, parents are happy.

After the pumpkin patch, when it got dark, we went to a haunted house that I heard about on the radio.  It is a haunted house that is made for kids and is "PTA Approved."  Kyson is the more sensitive kid and he's the one that I thought would be afraid of a haunted house.  This one had some scary elements, but everyone that was talking to you to scare you was behind a fence so no one would touch you.  They also had gooey stuff at the end to touch.  It was really cute.  They also had the Pumpkin King from "The Nightmare Before Christmas" greet the kids as they came.  I believe it was a success.  The kids really liked it.
